National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has said it will operate over 300 additional flights to meet the huge demand during Tet early next February.
It would begin selling tickets for the holiday season from January 1, Nguyen Tan Chan, head of the carrier market planning agency, said.
Between January 24 and February 21, there will be 22 flights daily between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City compared to the normal 10.
There will be seven flights on the HCMC-Da Nang sector, up from the usual five.
The airline has yet to make plans for international flights, including the Moscow, Paris, and Frankfurt sectors.
