Airlines add fuel surcharge for domestic flights

Ha Long Bay - a natural treasure

Foreign tourists visiting Vietnam should not miss a chance to visit one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country, Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh Province. Ha Long Bay is located 170 kilometres east of Hanoi and is a world heritage site acknowledged by UNESCO.

Having more than 3,000 monolithic islands and caves such as Dau Go (Wooden Stakes) Cave and Sung Sot (Surprise) Cave, and caves which contain traces of prehistoric man such as Soi Nhu, Me Cung, Tien Ong, Thien Long, Trong and Trinh Nu, Ha Long Bay is considered a gigantic beautiful picture, a treasure of nature.

To discover the beauty of these caves, there are hundreds of ships and boats in the tourism port of the bay for tourists to choose from. The touring periods can extend from four to eight hours.

If tourists want to spend a night on the bay, there are two-day, one night tours or three-day, two-night tours with stops at Thien Cung Cavern, Dau Go (Wood stakes), Sung Sot (Surprise) and Ti Top caves, Ga Choi Islet, plus Ngoc Vung and Quan Lan islands. For longer tours, tourists can enjoy the exotic experience of sleeping on ships anchored in the bay.

Tourists relax at Saigontourist’s Saigon-Ha Long Hotel nestled in the pinewood hills of Ha Long City, a location that overlooks Ha Long Bay. This four-star hotel has 228 rooms and five villas, conference rooms, the largest with a capacity for 800 guests, three restaurants and three bars.

Among the restaurants is the Panorama Restaurant at the top of the hotel. It is designed with transparent glass and has a panoramic view overlooking the city and Halong Bay. The restaurant accommodates daily meals, banquets and wedding parties of up to 200 guests.

The hotel has health services including a steam bath, a sauna, a Jacuzzi, a gym, a massage room, a swimming pool and an outdoor tennis court. Entertainment such as karaoke is also available.
