This new tour combines cycling and kayaking in the Mekong Delta, including the exploration of some islands where locals have never seen tourists.
There is no fixed program for the kayaking as the guide will arrange depending on the river tide.
The Mekong Delta originates high in Tibet, flowing 4500km through China, Myanmar - Laos - Thai border and through Cambodia and Vietnam, passing many volcanic red soil plateaus. Swimming in Mekong river? No problem, local people swim in the river everyday !

Depart 8.00 am by bus for Cai Be (2hrs). Once in Cai Be, we start biking off road for ~10km to ferry crossing and then board boat for cruise on the Mekong river. Visit Cai Be's floating market, and then off the boat for short cycling to ancient house. Lunch break.
Relax in hammock after lunch, and then kayak for 2 hours in small arroyo, and then back to our boat where we go to BenTre for the night, with sunset view from the river.
Overnight homestay in farmer house.

This day, we cycle around 30km from morning until 3.00 pm with many stops and visit.
After breakfast, we start cycling 4hrs back on small trail along the river, seeing the daily life of the locals on a winding road under the green coconut canopy of the coconut palms that make BenTre famous in Vietnam.
On arrival in BenTre at noon time, we cruise down the busy branches of the Mekong and into a peaceful canal. We visit an island orchard, have a lunch break with a traditional meal, see the daily life of farmers and try exotic seasonal fruits unique to the region. After a hammock siesta, we cycle to explore this quiet area, calling on a coconut-candy workshop and other handicraft workshop (if time permits) before coming back to our bus to return to Saigon.
