Established in 1962, Cuc Phuong is Vietnam’s oldest national park, a tropical rain forest which is home to an amazing variety of wildlife and rare hardwoods. This trip includes a mini-trek through lush rain forest to visit the caves of prehistoric man. Some say the natural splendor of the Tam Coc area rivals that of Ha Long Bay, and being rowed along the Boi River between the towering limestone outcrops is an unforgettable experience.

Day 1: Hanoi – Hoa Lu - Cuc Phuong
|
|
From Hanoi, we drive south to Hoa Lu, the ruins of an ancient citadel, where we visit King Dinh and King Le’s tombs complex. From here we continue our journey to Cuc Phuong National Park. Once we have settled into our rooms we will visit the Endangered Primate Rescue centre and learn a little of the work that is being done to preserve the endangered native primates.

Day 2: Cuc Phuong National Park
|
|
Rising this morning with the sounds of the forest all around us, we take a drive to the center of the park, where we commence our today’s trek through the lush rainforest, past centuries old trees and to caves once inhabited by prehistoric humans. Returning to our accommodation in the heart of the forest we will spend a second evening drifting off to sleep to the sounds of the nocturnal activity outside.

Departing Cuc Phuong this morning we trek to Cay Siu before making our way back to Hanoi arriving mid to late
