Often referred to as “Inland Ha Long Bay, ” the area of Tam Coc and Hoa Lu is characterised by the limestone geology that gives rise to the towering karsts that make this picturesque area so unique. On this enjoyable day trip, the atmosphere is relaxed as you casually pedal and paddle your way past green rice fields, along waterways and through underground passages.

7am - Depart Handspan Office (80 Ma May Street) by private coach to Tam Coc (2 hrs).
From Tam Coc, we start a leisurely bike ride (20 mins) through the verdant countryside. At a small dock, we board a sampan boat to journey in the heart of “Inland Ha Long Bay.” Take in the beauty of the karst formations as we pass along their base and row into one of the many caves carved through the limestone.
After one hour, if time permits, we will stop for a short walk (30 mins) to the Sunny Valley (optional). Afterwards, we return to the boat and make our way by boat back to the dock (about one hour).
Cycle back to Tam Coc village for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we ride for about an hour on the quiet country road through villages, rice fields, rivers and unique rock formations to Hoa Lu, where we visit the historic capital of and the famous Ancient temples of The Dinh and Le Dynasties.
Drive back to Ha Noi, with the tour ending at 80 Ma May around 6pm.
